I grew up with Rick from kindergarten through senior year in Oelwein. A great guy, with a wonderful family. Had many adventures in his neighborhood with Duane Whitaker and the Van Denover kids. Will have a good thought for him and the Ernst's.

My deepest sympathies to the family, friends and co-workers of Rick. He truly was an amazing individual and I am so blessed to have gotten to work with him at MHI. I would not have learned have the things I have if it were not for him and I truly believe I would not be the nurse that I am with out the important lessons he taught me over the years! He will be greatly missed!

My deepest sympathies to the Ernst family. Rick was truly one of a kind. He had a heart of gold and was one of the most kind people I had ever met. I am privileged to have gotten the opportunity to work with Rick at MHI; he was compassionate to everyone he met, patients and coworkers alike, and always had an (ornery) smile during every shift! The world needed more individuals like Rick. He will truly be missed. His family and friends will be in my thoughts!
