Brad Ohl
October 30, 1956 - October 30, 2020

Brad Ohl, 64, of Oelwein and formerly of Strawberry Point passed away Friday October 30, 2020.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday November 16, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein with Pastor Josh Schunk officiating.  Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein.  The Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein is assisting the family.  A memorial fund has been established.

Due to state and federal guidelines on gatherings regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing is required.  Those in attendance are required to wear a mask.

Bradley LaVerne Ohl was born October 30, 1956 in Oelwein to parents Leslie “Les” and Betty (Jensen) Ohl.  He graduated from Oelwein High School with the Class of 1975.  On September 7, 1985 he was united in marriage with Cheryl Skocz at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein.  He was currently employed in Sales at Paines RV in Elk Run Heights.  Brad loved hunting and being outdoors, his annual deer camp at the Circle B Ranch with family and friends, as well as time with his family.

Left to celebrate Brad’s life is his wife Cheryl; his parents: Les (Marge Downs) Ohl of Strawberry Point and Betty Ohl of Oelwein; his sisters: Dana (Dave) Meyers of Oelwein and Denise (Mark) Ballo of Ankeny; several nieces and nephews; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Carey (Tammy) Skocz of Quasqueton; his beloved Bulldog Bonnie Blue and Cockatiel Sunny.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dale and Ann Jensen; his sister Lori Ernst and brother-in-law Rick Ernst; his great-nephew Lincoln Grundmeyer; and several other loved family members.

The loss of Brad leaves a void for many. He was able to call many his friends and those were lucky to have a friend like Brad. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will live with us till we join him. Our thoughts are with Cheryl, Dana and Les. Tom & Barb.
