William “Bill” Baker, 57, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo. A private family service is planned for a later date.
Bill was born October 22, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Charles and Margaret (Sullivan) Baker. Bill married his soul mate, Helen Vance, on August 17, 2014 in Independence, Iowa. He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1978 and from Northeast Iowa Community College Auto Body Program. He was the owner of Baker Auto Body for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of Oelwein; his two sons, Bryan of Woodward, Iowa and James at home; his five brothers, Howard (Sherrie) Baker, Steve (Becky) Baker, Mark (Denise) Baker and Gerry Baker all of Oelwein and Robert (Pam) Baker of Chicago, Illinois; a sister, Mary (Dan) Canzolino of Ocala, Florida; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Charlene and Colleen and a brother, Charles.
