Thomas Latham, 32, of Oelwein passed away on Thursday February 25, 2016 at his home. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Wednesday March 2, 2016 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday March 3, 2016 at the Evangelical Free Church in Oelwein with Pastors Dan Driscoll and John Sheda officiating. Inurnment will be in Fontana Cemetery at Hazleton. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Thomas Michael Latham was born on March 15, 1983 in Millington, TN to parents Gregg and Christina (Wilson) Latham. He attended Oelwein Senior High School. On April 16, 2004 he was united in marriage with Nancy Juchem in Bradenton, FL. He had been employed with Ashley Industrial Molding and more recently at Transco, both in Oelwein. Thomas was a fisherman and also hunted mushrooms. He loved wrestling with his boys and coaching soccer and baseball. Thomas was a handyman who enjoyed tinkering with homemade projects and teaching his boys, and other children, how to do things. He was a devoted father and husband who loved time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Left to celebrate Thomas’ life is his wife Nancy Latham and their children: Christian, Seth, Joshua and Matthew; his parents Gregg (Dawn) Latham of Shellsburg and Christina (William) Hartley of Oelwein; his sister Tiffany Latham of Maynard; his brother Trent Voseberg of West Union; his step-brother Charlie Hines of Cedar Rapids; his grandparents: Beryl (Sue) Latham of Hazleton and Bernice (Charles) Engelbrecht of Meridian, MS; his uncles Bruce Latham of Prior Lake ,MN and Wayne Wilson of the Philippines; his close cousin Samantha (Lazeric) Lowe of Cedar Falls; his mother in-law Cookie Juchem of Hazleton; his sister in-law Iris Juchem of Greenwood, MS and a large extended family.
Thomas was preceded in death by his daughter Brittney Rose Latham; his grandfather Paw Paw Edward Wilson; his grandmother Edna Wilson; his close cousins Derrick Wilson and Dane Latham and his best friend and brother Jayson Jordan.
