Sandra Huffman, 67, of Oelwein passed away on Friday December 18, 2015 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Visitation will be from 4-7PM on Tuesday December 22, 2015 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. Funeral services will be at 3:00PM on Wednesday December 23, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein with Deacon Jim Patera officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Sandra K. Huffman was born on April 19, 1948 in Oelwein to parents Theodore and Mabel (Moran) Vargason. She graduated from Oelwein Senior High School with the class of 1966. On May 10th, 1969 she was united in marriage with Gordon Huffman in Oelwein. She worked in the kitchen at Mercy Hospital in Oelwein for many years. Sandy enjoyed camping and boating, trips to the casino and most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren.
Left to celebrate Sandy’s life is her husband Gordon Huffman; her children: Tim (Krista) Huffman of Denver, IA, Chris (Kelly) Huffman of Manchester, and Tina (Robert Walton) Huffman of Oelwein; her grandchildren: Kaleb, Robert, Addison, Ethan, Braelyn and Kaylee; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Richard “Dick” Vargason and David Moran; and her sister Margaret Kraft.
