Rose Mary Miller was born on May 10, 1926 in Longobucco, Italy to parents Joseph and Mary (Pisano) Stasi. She came from Italy to Oelwein when she was about 2 months old. Rose was the last living Italian immigrant from Oelwein. She graduated from Oelwein High School in 1944. Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein, and a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society. She enjoyed Salmon fishing with her husband. Rose was very kind, and was a people person, always able to strike up a conversation with anyone. She enjoyed lottery scratch tickets, and had on one occasion won a pretty good prize. Most of all, Rose loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
