Randy McQueen, 60, of Oelwein passed away Saturday March 22, 2025, surrounded by his family, at MercyOne Medical Center in Oelwein. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday April 13, 2025 from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM at the American Legion in Oelwein. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. The Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein is assisting the family.
Randall Scotte McQueen was born in Dubuque on November 12, 1964 to parents Virgil and Deneise (Bartels) McQueen. When he was younger, he lived in Cedar Rapids, Washington and Oelwein where he graduated with the class of 1983. While in high school, he worked at the Oelwein daily Register. As an adult, Randy worked as a volunteer at Mercy Living Plus, where he received an award for Volunteer of the Year in 2016, along with a trip to Nashville, TN where he received his award.
Randy was the oldest of five children. He is survived by his sisters: Heidi (Matt) Flaucher, Tami (Rick Bartels) Canfield and Cheridee Herman; his brother Steve (Jody) McQueen; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Deneise McQueen, his grandparents and great-nephew Bryce Flaucher.
