Louise Kleppe, 87, of Oelwein passed away Sunday March 3, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Oelwein.  Graveside services will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday March 29, 2024 at Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery in Ossian.  All friends and family are welcome to attend.  A Celebration Of Life for both Richard and Louise will be held from 12:00-4:00 PM on Saturday March 30, 2024 at the American Legion Post 9 in Oelwein.  Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.  The Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein is assisting the family.  

Louise Juanita Kleppe was born in Des Moines on August 30, 1936 to parents Myron and Clarice (Osterhus) Hilgerson.  She attended Ossian schools.  On June 14, 1955 she was united in marriage with Richard Kleppe at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ossian.  Louise owned and operated Lou’s Bridal in Oelwein and also was secretary at Kleppe’s Auto Body in Oelwein.

Left to celebrate Louise’s life are her children: Rick (Tina) Kleppe of Oelwein, Chrissy (Chris) Luckeroth of Oelwein, Tom (Jill) Kleppe of Harpers Ferry and Lori (Kenneth) Webb of Oelwein; her seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; her sister Sharon Anderson of West Union and her sister-in-law Ethel Hilsenbeck of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her grandchildren: Jeremy Latham and Joshua Kleppe; and her brother-in-law Dale Hilsenbeck.
