Kathie Finn, 68, of Prairie du Chien, WI, and formerly of Westgate, IA passed away Sunday October 23, 2022 at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. Visitation and memorial open house will be from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM on Sunday October 30, 2022 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein. A memorial fund has been established.
Kathie Irene Finn was born in Rockford, IL on August 21, 1954 to parents David and Ollie (Nelson) Finn. She graduated from Harlem High School in Machesney Park, IL. Kathie retired as an Administrative Assistant with Goodwill Industries in Oelwein and more recently was employed part-time with Truvant in Prairie du Chien.
Kathie lived for her family. She loved life, had a strong faith, and cherished time with her grandchildren-going on adventures fishing, “going to the pyramids” and most recently “alligator hunting”. Kathie would always remind us to always stay positive, and to always sparkle and shine.
Left to celebrate Kathie’s life are her children: Jenny (Eric) Buehner, Tim Rivera, Cody Schoeneck and Matt Schoeneck; her grandchildren: Cassie (Sean) Wiese, Jared Garrigus (Caleb), Nolan Pagel, Jack Buehner and Noah Schoeneck; her great-grandson Huxley Wiese; her sister Edna Lindley and brother Matt Finn; her sister-in-law Mary Finn; her nieces and nephews: Jeff (Michelle) Finn, John Finn (Sahab), Brian Finn (Troy), Michelle Finn, James “Jimbo” (Tina) Finn, William “Billy” Finn, Randy Lindley, Dusty (Rhea) Lindley, Pam (Gerald) Nyen, Diane (Wesley) Houghton, Debra Johnson, Sterling Carter, Melodie Barajas and Farrell Bear; and her life-long friend Janet Corona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters: Betty Shoppell and Ann Carter; her brothers: John “Jim” Finn, David “Mick” Finn and Ronnie Finn; her brothers-in-law: Dennis Carter and Dennis Lindley; her sister-in-law Karen Finn; her niece Tracy Holliman.
