Josephine Cathryn (Weaver) Jones, 86, of Oelwein, Iowa, formerly of Mesa, Arizona and Coldwater, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Oelwein Health Care Center. A memorial open house will be held from 2-4PM on Saturday April 8, 2017 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home. Interment will be in the National Memorial Cemetery Of Arizona.
Josephine “Jody” was born in Woodford County, Illinois on December 3, 1930 to parents Cathryn (Nofsinger) and Joseph Weaver. She was married to Quin Jones in 1950. He passed away in 2009. Jody attended Bluffton College.
Jody had a very deep faith, always putting family first. She was a listener, teacher, caregiver, peacemaker, and counselor. She was an avid reader, walker, and golfed for many years. She enjoyed making jewelry and knitting. She worked at various jobs outside of her home, her last at Beltone in Arizona.
After living in Arizona for many years, Jody was able to return to Oelwein to live closer to her family. She developed many new friendships at Oelwein Health Care where she received excellent care.
Jody leaves behind two sisters, Edith Kern of Morton, IL, and Glennis Thomas of Metamora, IL, two daughters, Nancee (Dave) Gearhart, of Oelwein, and Kelley (Timm) Rogers, of Quincy, Michigan. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Alissa (Chad) Ronnebaum, Mike (Danni) Gearhart, Tim (Carrie) Gearhart, Cody (Amy) Gary and Dustin (Michelle) Gary, 13 great-grandchildren, Owen, Mason and Olivia Ronnebaum, Sophia and Forrest Gearhart, Grace, Emma, Isabelle, and Grant Gearhart, Caylen Gary, Brittney Ernsberger, Austin and Eric Smith, and 1 great-great grandson, Adin Ernsberger.
