Ronald “Jim” Fox, 69, of Oelwein passed away quietly in his sleep on Sunday June 5, 2016 at Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein. Visitation will be from 3-7 PM on Thursday June 9 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Friday June 10 at the funeral home as well. Inurnment will be at a later date. A memorial fund has been established.
Jim was born on March 23, 1947 in Oelwein to parents Melvin and Mary Ann (Rosenow) Fox. He graduated from Oelwein High School with the class of 1965. Jim served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed with DeKalb in Oelwein for 33 years. He later was employed with Ryder Logistics of Waterloo, Monsanto of Independence and most recently with the Little Husky Center in Oelwein. Jim was a member of the American Legion of Oelwein.
On August 14, 1999 Jim was united in marriage with Caron Holt at their home in Oelwein. Jim enjoyed boating and his garden. He also enjoyed the many cars he had throughout his life, which were always spotless. He very much enjoyed socializing with his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed by them.
Left to celebrate Jim’s life is his wife Caron; his children Alan (Angie) Fox of Independence and Betty Jo (Rich) Rohrig of Aurora; his grandchildren: Mason and Jaxon Fox, and Amanda Rohrig; his step-daughter Rebekah (Troy) Clark of Idaho Falls, ID; his step-grandchildren: Justin, Thomas and Torrey Clark; his brothers: David (Brenda) Fox of Manchester and John (Dee) Fox of Oelwein; his sister Diane (Mark) McCormick of Boyd, MN; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Daryl Fox (1997) and Lyle Fox (2014).
