Jean Arnold, 87, of Oelwein passed away Tuesday December 3, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Oelwein.  Visitation will be from 10:30AM-12:00PM on Tuesday December 10, 2024 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein.  Funeral services will then begin at 12:00PM with Deacon Jim Patera officiating.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein. 

Jean Ann (Steils) Arnold was born in Gilbertville, IA on June 27, 1937 to parents Adolph J. and Antoinette (Backes) Steils.  She graduated from Jesup High School.  On November 21, 1959, Jean was united in marriage with Dorrance Arnold at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup.

Jean was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She loved watching her children and grandchildren in their various activities and would get together with them as often as she could.  She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, visiting her neighbors, reading, and quite often, you would see her walking the streets and neighborhoods where she lived.

Left to celebrate Jean’s life are her daughter, Deb (Randy) Ralston of Fairfax, IA; her daughter in-law, Kerry Arnold of Johnson Creek, WI; her grandchildren: Ashley (Loren) Lehman, Bryan (Allison) Arnold and Tyler (Kristina) Arnold; and her great-grandchildren: Vivienne and Leo Arnold and Aubrey and Addison Lehman; her sisters Manetta Buzynski of Oelwein, Shirley (Norman) Duffy of Fairbank, and Joyce (Don)  Kane of Bossier, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Kevin Arnold; her granddaughter, Lindsay Arnold; her sisters: Marjorie Mettner and Germain Decker; and her brothers: Charles, Raymond and Robert Steils.
