Helen Schroedermeier, 76, of Oelwein passed away Wednesday January 10, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Oelwein.  A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday January 18, 2024 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein.  In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the family for later designation. 

Helen Elayne Schroedermeier was born in Oelwein on November 17, 1947 to parents Samuel and Marie (Bratten) Shields.  She graduated from Oelwein High School with the class of 1966.  On July 13, 1991 she was united in marriage with Robert “Bob” Schroedermeier at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.  Helen was employed as a Hairdresser in Oelwein for many years.

Left to celebrate Helen’s life are her husband Bob of Oelwein; her children: Denice Jackson of Fairbank and David (Megan) Gilson of Fairbank; her grandchildren: Adam (Nicole) Thimmesch, Ayden Cummings and Landon Cummings; her great-grandchildren: Kenley, Riggs and Roland; and her beloved dog Chico.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law Brian Jackson; two brothers and a sister Fran Orris.
