Enoch Fratzke, 87, of Oelwein passed away Wednesday March 30, 2022 at his home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM on Tuesday April 5, 2022 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein. Memorial services will then begin at 2:00 PM with St. Croix Hospice Chaplain Pat Malanaphy officiating. Inurnment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein. A memorial fund has been established.
Enoch Robert Fratzke was born in Oelwein on November 6, 1934 to parents Erwin and Marjorie (Troxel) Fratzke. He graduated from Oelwein High School with the class of 1954. Enoch also attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette and the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. Enoch served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959, spending a portion of his service in Germany. On March 3, 1962 he was united in marriage with Marlene Werdel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein and they very recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Enochwas employed with KOEL as an Advertising Executive for 32 years.
Enoch was also an excellent golfer, avid fisherman, and a huge fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. As a devoted husband and father, Enoch’s greatest pleasures were time spent surrounded by family.
Left to celebrate Enoch’s life are his wife Marlene; his children: Kathy (Jim) Barnes of West Dundee, IL, Kurt (Eileen) Fratzke of Lee’s Summit, MO and Kevin (Joyce) Fratzke of Parker, CO; his grandchildren: Megan (Brandon) Wilson of Kansas City, MO, Molly Barnes of Iowa City and Matthew Barnes of St. Charles, IL; his great-grandchildren: Henry, Ruby and Charlotte Wilson of Kansas City, MO; his sister Marjanne Fratzke of Oelwein; his brother Craig (Nancy) Fratzke of Storm Lake; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son in infancy Scott Fratzke; his grandson Tyler Fratzke; his brothers: Eldon “Ollie” Fratzke, Theron Fratzke and Gayle Fratzke.
