Dorothy Ann Buhr was born in Arlington on August 7, 1951 to parents Irving and Elsie (Brickman) Loomis. She graduated from Starmont High School with the class of 1969. On September 1, 1969 she was united in marriage with Lee Buhr at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.
Dodie was like a golden ticket. She was the most humble, unique, beautiful, kind hearted woman in this world. She radiated joy and pure love in any activity whether she was baking homemade bread, impersonating Elvis, babysitting, church functions – you name it and she made it fun! Dodie was not a fan of technology or material things – she wanted quality time and genuine conversations.
Her favorite things were to play cards with Byer (Lee), loving her babies, grandbabies, and great-grandbabies, enjoying laughing with her friends, but most of all she thrived at filling us with love.
Left to celebrate Dodie’s life are her husband Lee; her children: Paul (Barb) Buhr of Marion and Kendall Buhr of Fort Meyers, FL; her grandchildren: Tiffany (Anthony Hinton) Buhr and Brandon Buhr; her great-grandchildren: Jett bond, Andre Hinton, Isla Rose Hinton, Miles Bond, Eden Bond, Ishaan Hinton, Ayana Hinton, Arianna Hinton and Jake (Haley) Bond; her wonderful sister-in-law Marion Buhr of Dallas, TX; and her very best friend Linda Boelter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws Bill and Edna Buhr; her brothers: Bob Loomis, Gene Loomis and Carl Loomis; her sisters: Fern Hock, Donna Murphy, Marge Grimm, Carol Tammen and Evelyn Loomis.
