Donald Gunningham, 73, of Oelwein passed away on Tuesday March 7, 2017 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.  Visitation will be from 2-5 PM on Saturday March 11, 2017 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home.  Graveside services and interment will be in the H.V. Adams Cemetery at Bastrop, Louisiana.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Donald Melvin Gunningham was born in Tucson, AZ on May 19, 1943 to parents James Stanley and Dorothy Mae (Sedwick) Gunningham.  He graduated from Folsom High School in Folsom, CA with the class of 1961.  He had been married to Elizabeth Marx and they later divorced.  He later was united in marriage with Bettie Lewis.  Donald was employed as a military contractor electrician and also as a truck driver with Ryder.

Left to celebrate Donald’s life are his children: David (Patricia) Gunningham of Fairbank and Donna Gunningham of Glendale, AZ; his grandchildren: Tim (Toni Becker) and Ryan Gunningham, Adam and Alisa Seland; his great-grandchildren: Alexis, Laney, Aden and Aylin Gunningham, Austyn Jonas, Autumn and Keelan Becker, Ever Lillian Seland ; his brother Jerry Gunningham; his sister Joan Susan Gunningham; as well as friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Johnny Gunningham and his wife Bettie (1999).
