Carrie Aagesen, 35, of Oelwein passed away on Sunday February 7, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Oelwein. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Thursday February 11, 2016 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM on Friday February 12, 2016 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Fontana Cemetery at Hazleton. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Carrie Allene Aagesen was born in Waterloo on May 30, 1980 to parents Raymond Sr. and Jennifer (Apling) Carlson. She graduated from Valley High School in Elgin. Carrie then served her country in the United States Army Reserve. On March 19, 2005 she was united in marriage with Jim Aagesen in Oelwein. She attended Hawkeye Community College and NICC. She had been employed as a CNA with the Good Samaritan Home in Postville, Grandview Healthcare Center in Oelwein, ABCM East Campus in Independence, Maple Crest in Fayette and Parkview Assisted Living in Fairbank. She had also been employed with Upper Iowa University in the Custodial Dept.
Carrie enjoyed knitting, reading, cookouts, garage sales and thrift stores. She very much enjoyed time with family, friends, and mostly, time with her children. She will be dearly missed by them.
Left to celebrate Carrie’s life is her husband Jim; her children: Joshua and Royal Aagesen; her step-children: Ashley Aagesen of Ft. Atkinson and Casey Aagesen of Oelwein; her parents: Raymond Carlson Sr. of Castalia and Jennifer Carlson of Tripoli; her brothers: Raymond (Paula) Carlson Jr. of Tripoli and Joshua (Stacie) Carlson of Sumner; her grandmother Marlys (Vince) Tookey of Eagle Grove; her mother-in-law Sherry Kay Aagesen of Oelwein; her sister-in-law Margaret (Jay) Bahl of Mason City and her grandson Eli Walker.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Raymond J. Carlson; her grandparents Louis and Norma Apling.
