Becky Staton, 65, of Oelwein passed away Friday September 10, 2021.  Memorial services will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 2, 2021 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein.  A memorial fund has been established.

Becky Lynn Staton was born in Independence on August 3, 1956 to parents Herschel and Patricia (Holroyd) Vargason.  She graduated from high school in Independence with the class of 1974.  On January 1, 1997 she was united in marriage with Billy Staton Sr. in Fairbank.  Becky was employed as a Nurse’s Aide with various nursing homes.  Becky was loved by many and her heart was with God.  She loved her grandchildren and family, was an amazing cook, and enjoyed her animals.

Left to celebrate Becky’s life are her husband Billy; her children: Tammy (Ken) Steines of Independence, Jonathan Dumire of Oelwein, Shane (Wanda) Dumire of Masonville, Ben Dumire of Anamosa and Dorene (Richard) Roberts of Oelwein; 9 brothers and sisters; 29 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and one on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter in infancy.
